Physical description
Textile panels. The eight panels consist of four pairs, all of which are identical. Two scenes are embroidered in coloured silk thread on the red twill ground. One represents a small bird among flowers with a butterfly hovering above. The other a pair of ducks swimming under lotus flowers and leaves. The colours are bright and varied, green and pink predominating. The silk embroidery consists of satin, long and short, split and stem stitches, and Chinese knot and couched work. The lining is pale blue woven silk.
