Physical description
The silk outer layer of the jacket is attached to a linen inside layer which fits the body closely and ties together with its five original linen tapes. To create width below the waist, two gores have been inserted on each side of the bodice while the seamed panel down the back ends in a full pleated peplum at centre back. The skirts thus created are lined with plain white silk taffeta. The sleeves are full-length and fasten at the wrist with two buttons. They are faced with white linen printed with a small black design (European).
