Description
Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white gourd vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, suspending a tall cylindrical neck, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, with a straight opening rim. All reserved in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt fine blue color. The main body adorned with huge sturdy tree with dense foliage and flowers blooms among flying bird, butterfly, bellow scrolling ruyi clouds. The neck festooned with same continuous hand painting on the main body. The shoulder and the upper mouth rim decorated with geometric lines and interlocking taotie mask, enclosed with double blue rings lines. Banded with big flowers blooms among cresting waves Lishui water on the mid.
