Physical description Box and lid of porcelain, in the form of a flattened sphere. The sides are decorated round the outside, with wide horizontal bands of dragons and flowering stems, alternating with narrow bands of cloud motifs, all incised in outline and filled in with turquoise-blue on a dark blue ground. The top of the lid is ornamented in the same manner with a representation of a fight between two dragons amidst clouds and floral stems. On the base is the mark of the period Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty.
